Pillars of the Park Award – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman was recognized with a Pillars of the Park Award in a ceremony at the Park on November 2. Over 50 people from throughout the community attended to congratulate Senator Bingaman on this honor; The QC Group – The company, which is headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, has recently opened an office/lab in the SS&TP; New Mexico State University (NMSU) Distinguished Alumna – Jackie Kerby Moore, Executive Director of the SS&TP, was recognized as the 2012 Distinguished Alumna for the College of Business at NMSU on October 26.

Applied Technology Associates (ATA) – ATA Joint Venture, ATA Aerospace, coordinated the launch of the Red Bull Stratos balloon that carried Felix Baumgartner into the stratosphere for his free-fall jump into the desert near Roswell, NM on October 14; Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA (SEDU) – The New Mexico State Land Office co-hosted a news conference, ribbon cutting, and facility tour for SEDU on October 4 to welcome them in the Sandia Science & Technology Park (SS&TP); Licensing Roundtable – The SS&TP Program Office held a Roundtable discussion with members of SNL’s licensing team and Park companies on October 23 at the Sandia Laboratories Federal Credit Union in the Park; Top Performing CEO – Tony Tenorio, CEO & Chairman of ATA, was named 2012 Top Performing CEO by the New Mexico Business Weekly (NMBW); Bernalillo County Recognizes the Park – The SS&TP was recognized by the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners on October 23.

Sandia Research & Technology Showcase – The SS&TP Program Office organized the first Sandia Research & Technology Showcase held at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque on September 12 and attracted nearly 400 people; SS&TP Community Advisory Council Meeting – The Park Community Advisory Council convened on September 27at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History; SS&TP Company & Partner Picnic –The annual Company and Partner Picnic was held on September 27 at Ted Hobbs Park; Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) – Jered Trujillo is the new Branch Manager of the SS&TP branch.

Open House – The SS&TP held an Open House recently at the Steve Schiff Auditorium on Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) to showcase the products and capabilities of Park companies and organizations to representatives from Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), Air Force Research Lab, and KAFB. Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) – The SS&TP organized an informational session and tour in August to discuss how Park companies and organizations can access this unique user facility to further their work. Economic Impact Assessment News Conference – The SS&TP hosted a news conference on August 28 to announce the results of an economic impact report by the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG).

RED, Inc. Communications (RED, Inc.) – The company, which is headquarterd in Idaho Falls, Idaho has recently opened an office in the SS&TP; Global Analytic IT Services, LLC (GAITS) – The company won a $40 million U.S. DOE contract to provide web development and technical services to the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University; The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History and New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired – The two organizations announced a new program, Park Promises, at a recent SS&TP Company Leadership Luncheon held at the Museum; SS&TP Company Leadership Luncheon – Analytical Solutions, Inc. (ASI), hosted the most recent quarterly luncheon in June.
